Wilbert van Dorp begon zijn werk in film in 1985 als construction manager voor de film A Zed & Two Noughts van Peter Greenaway. Vanaf 1989 begon ook zijn werk als Production Designer voor vele nederlandse en internationale speelfilms Waaronder o.a. films als The Pillow Book van Peter Greenaway, Zwartboek van Paul verhoeven en de De Heineken ontvoering waarvoor hij het gouden kalf voor best production design 2012 heeft gekregen. Behalve aan speelfilms werkt Wilbert van Dorp met zijn bedrijf Art Department aan vele commercials in binnen en buitenland en aan TV films en series.
Wilbert van Dorp started his work in film in 1985 as construction manager for the featurefilm A Zed & Two Noughts directed by Peter Greenaway. Since 1989 his work as Production Designer started for Dutch and international featurefilms amongst which are The Pillow Book directed by Peter Greenaway, Blackbook directed by Paul Verhoeven and the De Heineken ontvoering directed by Maarten Treurniet for which he received ‘het Gouden Kalf’ for best production design. Wilbert van Dorp and his company Art Department also work on numerous commercials in the Netherlands and abroad and on TV films and series.
