Greek Cat Care Foundation (or Stichting Kattenhulp Griekenland) was set up end of 2010, with the aim to help the street cats of Greece.
Our charity supports projects and private initiatives in Greece, that work to help the street cats.

* Support and sponsor neuterings of stray cats. ​
* Collect funds for food and special food for shelter cats and street cats
* Collect funds for necessary medications that are needed to help sick or weak cats and kittens or to keep cats and kittens healthy
* Help and support by helping with special equipments for neuterings, and for sick cats and kittens where this is needed.
* Offer support to help in case of vet costs for emergencies and for vet costs
* Supporting and helping to improve and an existing cat shelter or help and support to establish this,in order to be able to help sick and/or injured and/or weak cats and kittens
Help volunteers by providing relevant information to help the street cats
* Education of tourists as well as local inhabitants
* Inform tourists as well as local inhabitants

A little bit about our history..
From 2010 untill 2016, we worked on the island of Samos.
There was little or nothing at that time in 2010 for the many thousands of street cats of this island.
Iris, the founder of the charity decided to do something about it.
First fund raising was started to be able to start neutering projects, volunteer vets were found to help, to stop the endless cycle and to diminish the numerous sick, suffering and dying cats and kittens.
Then food collecting was next, so the many street cats also got food to survive.
Slowly more and more people joined the volunteer group, and then a small shelter was started on Samos, where many sick or injured cats and kittens were taken in.

Since 2015 there is a better and new shelter on Samos specially for the cats, where hundreds of cats find shelter and care.
Everything possible needed was sent to Samos: traps and boxes for neutering, benches and special cages for kittens, incubators, and lots of cat beds, blankets and snuggle safes.
Loads of kittenmilk and -food, catfood, special food, medications and so on.
There is even a vet room now, and a lot of equipment was sent to Samos to help the street cats most of it donated or found second hand.
In the last years, about 500 street cats a year were neutered, many sick and ill cats received emergency help and treatments
many street cats received food, a lot of cats lives have been saved and they found wonderfull homes.
All of it was possible because of the help of many people and with the help of some wonderfull sponsors.
We like to specially mention transport company All Transport from Holland, and Animal Fellows from Holland who support our work in a huge way
In september 2016 we decided to look out to help in other parts of Greece, because there are so many other places where help is desperately needed for the many street cats.
The work for Samos has been taken over by other volunteers, a very good start has been set up on Samos.
Our projects now are based on Skopelos island, Kythira, Crete, Volos and Skyros.
We are with a small team, based in Holland and Belgium, working closely with the volunteers of our new projects.
We aim to help the street cats in these areas, together with you our supporters and with our sponsors!
