In the past 65 years much has been achieved in the areas of international development, poverty alleviation, peace and security. The signs of a changing world are however all around us. A fast-growing world population, climate change, persistent poverty, a growing demand for scarce natural resources and communication that is becoming better, faster and available for almost all in the world are aspects influencing the lives of all people around the globe. The challenges we are facing are unprecedented as well as the means to address these challenges.

People and countries across the globe have a shared interest to develop a more inclusive and sustainable growth model in which profit is defined in economic, social and ecological aspects and knowledge is shared to protect and benefit our global common goods. Companies, civil society organizations, universities and governments realize that the solution has to be found in innovative ways of cooperation and financing. A continuing process of co-creation is needed which is better, faster and cheaper than the traditional forms of Research & Development.
