What is a microclimate?
An environmental microclimate
-Is the climate of a small area that differs from the surrounding area.
-Is warmer or colder, more wet or dry, or more or less sensitive to frost.
-Can be very small - a protected garden next to a building, a puddle of water between the rocks where plants grow.- or larger like the moderate climate of Cornwall in southern England.
In 'social terms', we can identify microclimates in areas that are
different from the surrounding environment because people here gather or
seclude. Like a an igloo, office spaces, an Earth ship or bus shelters
A microclimate allows people to experience their environment in another way!
