Studio ilse van klei is a Rotterdam based design company that was founded in 2005. It consists of Ilse van Klei and a solid network of photographers, illustrators, web developers and copywriters.

Everything is achievable, from a small commission to an enormous project.

We design books, visual identities, posters, invitations, magazines, brochures and anything that can be printed. Digitally we provide websites, newsletters, apps and more. Preferably we design everything for a client. Thus we can seamlessly coordinate the various manifestations.

We love details. And strong typography, contrasts, tactility and smart finishings.

But first comes the concept. This stems from a proper analysis of the needs and purpose of the client. It’s about the essence, both in the mission statement and in its implementation. We ask the necessary questions if something is unclear. A clear story makes the final design just better.

After the concept is solid we’ll look for the proper form and implementation. If the content askes for it, we don’t fear anything. We’ll fold eighty-one A4 pages to come to the correct folding method, we’ll look at as many fonts required to find the perfect ‘B’ and we’ll do the necessary experiments with the printer to achieve a rare effect.
