Stichting Help Uganda (HUG) zet zich in voor de meest kansarme mensen in Uganda. Vondelingen, zieken en mensen met een handicap hebben in dit derde wereldland een zwaar leven. Stichting HUG probeert hun leven weer kleur te geven door praktische hulp in de vorm van goederen. Deze hulp biedt HUG aan door zich te richten op 4 projecten:

1. Noah's Ark
Dit is een kinderhuis voor de kansarme vondelingen. Soms zijn het weggegooide kinderen, soms is het uit pure onmacht dat kinderen te vondeling worden gelegd of naar het kinderhuis worden gebracht.

2. Medisch centrum / Medical Centre
Kinderen uit de sloppenwijken krijgen tandheelkundige hulp en voorlichting. Er worden bijv. tandenborstels en tandpasta uitgedeeld. Ook wordt er gewerkt aan een nieuw ingerichte verloskamer.

3. Sure Prospects Institute
In een derde-wereld land als Uganda zijn invaliden een schande voor de familie en worden verborgen gehouden voor de buitenwereld. Sure Prospects zoekt deze kinderen en (jong-)volwassenen op en overtuigt de ouders van de voordelen van een vakopleiding. Het onderwijs dat aangeboden wordt ligt op het niveau waarop het kind de aangeboden stof aankan en ook in de praktijk uitvoeren kan.

4. Lepraziekenhuis St. Francis / Lepra Hospital St. Francis
Het leven van de leprapatiënten wordt opgefleurd door (gebruiks)voorwerpen en voedingsmiddelen te doneren die het leven voor de patiënten aangenamer maakt.

The HUG (Help UGanda) Foundation supports the underprivileged people in Uganda. Orphans, foundlings, sick, elderly and disabled people struggle the most in a Third World country. The HUG Foundation strives to add some colour to their lives by providing practical aid, locally.

We support the local people through 4 projects:

1. Noah’s Ark
This is a children's home for deprived babies and children. Sometimes these children are simply thrown away by their parents, other times parents are in one way or another incapable of taking care of their babies or children and so those children end up at Noah's Ark.

2. Medical Centre
Children from the slums can come here to receive dental aid and information. We hand out toothbrushes and toothpaste. At the medical centre we are also helping to build a new obstetric facility (delivery room).

3. Sure Prospects Institute
In a Third World country like Uganda, handicapped are considered an embarrassment to the family and are thus kept hidden from the outside world. Sure Prospects seeks these children and (young) adults out and tries to persuade their parents of the advantages of schooling. At Sure Prospects these children can learn a trade, and the education that is offered will be tailored to the abilities of the children and (young) adults to make sure that they can put their newly acquired knowledge and skills to practice.

4. St. Francis Lepra Hospital
We donate items and foodstuffs to the lepra patients to cheer them up and make their lives a little bit easier.
