Museum Nairac bestaat ruim honderd jaar. Al in 1875 vond de toenmalige burgemeester mr. C.A. Nairac het tijd voor een gemeentemuseum. Samen met gemeentebode H. Bouwheer richtte hij een oudheidkamer in met archeologische en andere historische voorwerpen.
