Bears in Mind gaat er vanuit dat de bescherming van de beer in het wild en in gevangenschap onlosmakelijk met elkaar verbonden zijn. Door het probleem bij de bron en duurzaam aan te pakken ontstaat er uiteindelijk een wereld waarin mens en beer harmonieus samenleven. Bears in Mind vormt de spil in al het beren-beschermingswerk in Europa en geniet erkenning op mondiaal niveau.

Bears all over the world are threatened due to loss of habitat, habitat fragmentation illegal hunting and abuse by men. In many places bears are mistreated for entertainment as dancing bears, in circuses, theatre and film industry. Bears in Mind's mission is to protect nature, the bear and its wild habitat in particular as well as other animal species sharing this habitat. On top of this Bears in Mind focuses on the welfare of captive bears.
