OKRA is a prominent Dutch design practice, in which architects, landscape architects and designers work together in multidisciplinary teams. OKRA is driven by a vision to make cities better is specialises in planning and design of urban public spaces. To date OKRA has experience in large international projects, including a vision for Moscow Brateevo, the Innercity Basel and a vision Public Space Rotterdam City Centre. OKRA has also realised Cutty Sark Gardens in Greenwich (UK) and for Cork (IE) Marina Park, design work is being finalised to create a resilient water park. Still ongoing, is OKRAs most prominent project to transform 56 ha of urban public space in the heart of Athens, with a focus on urban bioclimate and alternative modes of transportation.
The combination of conceptual planning and perfect implementation is central to OKRA's project approach. In our opinion, it is necessary that in cities,new spaces are being created, that people can identify with.
