Marnix Hotel is located right in the center of Amsterdam. The main
square of the city, Leidseplein, with a variety of restaurants, cafés,
pubs, coffeeshops and clubs, is just two minutes from us! Most of the
sights Amsterdam has to offer are also located around us, maximum 10
minutes by walking.

The Marnix Hotel is in a beautiful old building that features the
architecture style of Amsterdam. The hotel is located by a canal,
therefore most of the rooms have a canalview, overlooking the little
boats coming and going during the daytime. Marnix Hotel offers nice
and cozy basic rooms, dormitories as well as en suite rooms. Our basic
rooms come either with a private shower or with shared facilities. The
dormitories are either for six or for ten people. Our en suite rooms
come with private facilities and television. At Marnix Hotel we offer
our guests free WiFi, free security lockers, free towels and linen.
Furthermore, there are several vending machines in our hotel for
drinks and snacks.

If you plan to participate in any of sighseeing programmes offered by
Tours and Tickets, at the reception we are more than happy to help you
to book tickets. This way you only need to bring the printed ticket
with you, and you do not have to wait in line. Furthermore, several
discount cards and citymaps are available at the reception. If you

RESTAURANTS

At Leidseplein you can find many restaurants with Indonasian,
Argentinian, Italian as well as Japanese cuisines. There you can also
find fast food restaurants such as Mcdonald’s, Burger King as well as
the famous Febo with a typical Dutch menu. If you feel like something
more extravagant, there is a Hard Rock Café 10 minutes from Marnix
Hotel. Furthermore, you can find a supermarket just at the end of
Leidsestraat (Koningsplein), which is around 8 minutes from us by
walking.

NIGHTLIFE

Leidseplein is perfect for the nightlife! There are a number of bars
and pubs not only for tourists, but also for local people. At Sports
Café you can have 10 shots for only 10 euros. Right next to that, you
can find the most famous coffee shop of Amsterdam, the Bulldog. As for
parties, you only need to walk two minutes to get to Melkweg just like
to Sugarfactory, the most famous clubs of Amsterdam. Only 5 minutes
from Leidseplein, you will see Paradiso, which is not only a club and
concert hall, but also a cultural center of Amsterdam. This churchlike
club has special event for students every Thuersday. Near Paradiso,
there is another club Chupitos, where you can experience a number of
spectacular shots.

A bit further away, around 15 minutes from Marnix Hotel, you can find
the other famous square, the Rembrandtplein. Similarly to Leidseplein,
there are most of the cafés, pubs, restaurants and clubs. If you feel
like eating, you can go to Coco’s which is a cozy place with great
food for affordable prices! Although at night, this place becomes a
club for international people with top 40 music. Last, but not least,
there is a karaoke night on Wednesdays! At Rembrandtplein, you can
find one of the most exclusive clubs of Europe, the Escape. Even
though this place is famous for the well known dj’s that played there,
Escape organizes regular parties almost every night.

EXPLORING THE CITY

Amsterdam has its very special atmosphere which you will experience
soon! Most of the time, people feel like going for a walk and just
enjoy the beautiful view all these old buildings provide. Only 5
minutes from Marnix Hotel, you can find the famous Flowermarket where
you can not only buy all kinds of flowers, but also many souvenirs for
an affordable price. It is right next to a canal which makes it even
more beautiful. Another market that has its very special own
atmosphere is the Waterloo Market. It is more of flee market with
handmade souvenirs, jewellery, and many old things that you cannot
find elsewhere! If you want to explore the Dutch kitchen, we recommend
you going to the Albert Cuyp market where you can taste a variety of
fish dishes.
