De Ruitervereniging vindt haar oorsprong in de Rijvereniging Oud-Beijerland en L.R. & P.C.“De Hoeksche Ruiters” opgericht in 1976 door een aantal plaatselijke pony- en paardenliefhebbers. De eerste jaren werd gereden in de oude suikerfabriek. Deze lokatie is bekend geworden door de serie “De Fabriek”. De beide verenigingen zijn in 1998 officieel samengevoegd tot de huidige vereniging.
