Prins Paphiopedilum Orchideeën kweekt sinds 1993 Paphiopedilum Amerikaanse Hybriden, op een bedrijf van 9000 m². Er is dus jarenlange ervaring in deze gespecialiseerde teelt. De selectie, vermeerdering en opkweek gebeurt geheel in eigen beheer. In januari 2007 is het bedrijf uitgebreid met een tweede locatie (20.000 m²). De Paphiopedilum, het venusschoentje, heeft zijn naam te danken aan zijn schoenvormige lip. De Paphiopedilum behoort tot de familie van de Orchideeën. Dit is op de cactussen na de grootste plantenfamilie, die je in de natuur over bijna de hele wereld kunt tegenkomen. De Paphiopedilum komt normaal gesproken in (sub)tropische gebieden voor. In de natuur groeit deze plant in en onder de bomen, met zijn wortels langs de stam of in het losse organische materiaal op de grond.

Since 1993 Prins Paphiopedilum Orchids has cultivated Paphiopedilum American Hybrids, in a nursery with a surface of 9.000 m2. Before that, since 1970, the plants were bred by Prins Orchidee. We have skills for many years in this special culture. Selection, multiplication and breeding is done on our own. In January 2007 the company opened it’s second location (20.000 m²). The Paphiopedilum, the ladyslipper, owes its name to the shoeshape form of its lip. De The Paphiopedilum belongs to the family of Orchids. Beside cactus it is the largest family of plants one can find in nature almost all over the world. The Paphiopedilum can usually be found in (sub)tropical areas. In nature this plant grows in and under trees, with its roots along the trees or in the loose organic material on the soil.

Prins Paphiopedilum Orchideeën züchtet seit 1993 auf einer Fläche von 9.000 Quadratmetern Paphiopedilum Amerikanische Hybriden. Zuvor erfolgte die Produktion bei Prins Orchidee. Diese jahrelange Erfahrung gewährleistet eine sachgerechte Zucht dieser besonderen Pflanzen. Auswahl, Vermehrung und Anzucht erfolgen in Eigenregie. Im Januar 2007 hat sich das Unternehmen mit einer zweiten Niederlassung erweitert (20.000 m²). Die auch als Frauenschuh bezeichnete Pflanze verdankt ihren Namen der schuhförmigen Lippe. Die Paphiopedilum gehört zur Familie der Orchideen, nach den Kakteen die artenreichste Pflanzengattung, die fast überall auf der Welt in der Natur anzutreffen ist. Die Paphiopedilum findet sich normalerweise in tropischen und subtropischen Gebieten. In freier Natur wächst sie in und unter Bäumen und wurzelt entweder am Baum oder im lockeren organischen Bodenmaterial.
