The company
The Scholtes family has been made up of craftsmen and professionals for decades. Grandpa Scholtes began with his first garden in Westland, the largest glasshouse growing area in the world, with an ideal growing climate and a great deal of natural light. The entrepreneurship and genuine professional expertise has been retained within the family and, 40 years later, the modern Scholtes Roses nursery is now located in Kwintsheul. Tradition and innovation go hand in hand in this company. Ronald and Edwin Scholtes learnt the trade from their father Jan and have combined this know-how with the technology of today. This results in the very best quality Red Naomi! roses.
Classic buds
No other flower is so bound up with the emotions as the red rose. The red flower colour represents hearts’ desires, romanticism, passion, beauty and courage. This also goes for the Red Naomi! Its classic form and subtle perfume make this velvety rose the perfect accompaniment to every moment in life. A sturdy stalk and a flower with a multitude of petals allow the blooms to open in full and your clients to enjoy their blooms for at least ten days.

Natural balance
Natural balance in the glasshouse is a very important factor for Scholtes Roses. Water and nutrients are thus recycled and Ronald uses organic fertilisers as much as he can to keep the crops in top condition. Care for both man and the environment are central priorities for this company. Proof of the effectiveness of this approach is the fact that the rose plants are used over several years and deliver stunning flowers throughout. The company is also very conscious of its energy consumption. The assimilation lighting in the glasshouse, which must be kept on at all times in order to produce a good product, runs on electricity that has been generated by the company itself.

Close family company
Scholtes Roses is a genuine family company. But that’s not so strange. Many bakers and butchers have been brought up within Scholtes families. For this particular family of Scholtes, however, things began in 1937. In that year, Grandpa Scholtes started a business in Westland, growing tomatoes and cucumbers. This gardening business passed from father to son and in 1996 Ronald took the plunge into rose cultivation. The nursery is now equipped with the most modern and environmentally-friendly technology when it comes to cultivation, energy, environment, water and labour.

Ronald’s girlfriend Mascha and his mother Loes are also both actively involved in the nursery business. The family Scholtes has also been able to count on a great team of staff for many years. Together, they check on the crops each and every day and select the very best quality roses.
