5Rhythms® is created by Gabrielle Roth and practiced by tens of thousands worldwide. It is a dynamic movement practice, a philosophy and a perspective. 5Rhythms is rooted in the principle that movement is medicine.
Flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness. By dancing the rhythms the attention shifts to the body. This helps to (re)balance the connection between body, heart and mind.
Ron Hagendoorn has been dancing for over 20 years, including 15 years of 5Rhythms® practice.His commitment to the 5Rhythms grows as he discovers the full scope of this movement meditation. 5Rhythms has space for shadow and light, which makes it the most comprehensive dance form he came across.
Ron was trained by Gabrielle Roth in 2007 to teach the Waves® level of this practice. Currently he is in training with Jonathan Horan to teach the Heartbeat® level. His teaching style is direct and clear, with an appreciation of the mystery of human life.
His choice of music is varied and inspiring. Apart from being an accredited 5Rhythms teacher Ron is also a Somatic Experiencing® practitioner. He is a member of the 5Rhythms Teachers Association and is teaching in the Netherlands and abroad.
