SoGoodToWear stands for slow fashion. Our collection includes fair, sustainable, high quality, beautiful and timeless pieces.

The comfortable, luxurious basics of SoGoodToWear are made from animal friendly cashmere in a fair-trade atelier in Nepal. The quality of the clothing from So Good To Wear is comparable with the high-end cashmere brands. They are professionally made and hand-checked.

SoGoodToWear works with cashmere that we currently stock from outside suppliers.

We would like to take this a step further, and start our own goat herds in the higher regions of Nepal. We want to use innovative and ethical ways to breed and herd goats, without causing any environmental damage.

Nepal is known for its strong craftsmanship when it comes to the processing of cashmere. However, currently the resource itself, the cashmere wool, is being imported from abroad.

SoGoodToWear wants to bring back the whole supply-chain to Nepal. The small scale herding of goats, together with the combing, plucking, spinning and dying of the cashmere wool can provide the local Nepalese communities with much needed work and income.
SoGoodToWear wants to accomplish this through a cooperation, in which everyone involved in the supply-chain owns a part of the cooperation.

Cashmere is a special kind of wool, which is extracted from the under coat of the cashmere goat. The under coat of those goats is naturally full, soft and clean. When the fuzz of the goats is shaved, the soft under coat is separated from the firmer outer coat. The under coat is washed and spun into dreads. The dreads are very thin, leaving a comfortable luxurious feeling.

The fur is naturally white, brown, black or grey, but can also be dyed.

Cashmere is soft, flexible and does not itch. Cashmere isolates, keeps you warm and comfortable in the winter. In the summer however cashmere has a cooling effect, it blocks the sun and keeps your skin fresh. Because of the fine fiber a thin light cashmere sweater provides a warmer feeling than a thick sweater of sheep wool.

SoGoodToWear is made in a fair-trade knitting factory in Nepal, where talented artisans process the high quality cashmere into our custom designs. Our cashmere knitters get a good education, a fair wage, and work under safe and pleasant circumstances. Besides this they are offered ample opportunity to develop themselves further.
