The American painter William McCartin (1905-2003) was born in Hell's Kitchen, New York City. Bill missed the Great War but not the Depression and spent those years in the W.P.A, honing his skills as a draftsman and colorist. At the Art Student's League, he was a colleague to Thomas Hart Benton as well as Barnett Newman and Mark Rothko; his works show an affinity to the Benton's regionalism, Rothko's mysticism and Newman's spatial sensibility. | See more ideas about Acrylic nail designs, Acrylic nails and Acrylics.
